Class Description: If you have never taken a Barre class before and not sure what it is, keep
reading! Barre is designed to be a full body muscle endurance workout. It is typically
different sections that focus on major muscle groups including arm, glutes, and core.
is a workout technique inspired by elements of ballet, yoga and Pilates. It is low impact,
intensity movements designed to strengthen your body in ways that few other
addition to building strength, this full body workout also develops agility and flexibility
classes, you’ll use just the barre (or equivalent like a countertop or chair back) and
weight to churn out rep after rep of muscle-burning move, while incorporating tools
resistance bands, sliders, small 2 lb free weights, exercise balls, and more. There are
that come with dabbling in a Barre class to supplement your other training. Some of
are:
Increased flexibility
Increased muscle strength
Improved endurance
Gentle on your joints as it is low impact
Better posture and great for cross training.

Requirements:
Barre is beginner friendly and adaptable to different skill sets and ability levels
and all ages over 18.

Instructor Bio:
Kim Ashley is AFLCA certified through Alberta Fitness. Kim has been teaching
Barre and other fitness classes since 2016. She has always been involved in fitness in
aspects, throughout high school in the swim team, riding bikes or running. Much later
participated in Femsport competitions in 2016 and riding bikes and completed the MS
from Houston to Austin Texas covering 180 miles. Kim is an avid believer of being
way whether it be walking or more intense activities and emphasizes the need to keep
any format.
Kim’s passion for fitness and being active have evolved over the years and she looks
welcoming newcomers to her classes.
