Garden is growing strong!

Cloverdale Community Garden is growing by leaps and bounds, especially in this July heat wave! The Edmonton Food Bank plot is producing a variety of squash that are peeking through the vines already. Where we usually plant potatoes, mustard seed was sown to help renew the soil.

Our 2021 project, the Bennett Berm squash hill,  has been very successful so far, using old tires to support the vines on the slope.  The 24 individual plots and 2 raised beds are bursting with an assortment of kale, lettuce, beets, carrots, beans, peas and tomatoes.

Thanks to the garden teams for weeding, watering, composting, lawn care and flowers—you have done an outstanding job of looking after the common garden spaces. Feel free to drop by anytime and enjoy this little piece of Cloverdale paradise.
